Cloud computing is changing the way we work and the way we engage with our customer. Virtually every organization is now exploring the potential for cloud computing, searching for higher agility, scalability and even new business opportunities. With cloud computing working becomes more socially interactive and less constrained to time and location. However, many organizations are struggling to adopt cloud computing to their full advantage and fail to anticipate it’s impact across the entire organization. This suite of cloud training courses helps corporations to overcome these challenges by providing vendor independant, engaging and practical training. Training is available either online or in a classroom allowing you to choose the delivery most suited to your organization’s needs.

There are no formal prerequisites to sit any of the courses; it is recommended that participants have experience in the IT domain. It is highly recommended to have completed at least the Virtualization Essentials and/or Cloud Essentials course before playing the Business Simulation Game. Candidates who have not attended either one of these courses can play the game, but experience in the cloud computing/virtualization domain is required to get the most out of the game.
Students can view training material online through the web based training delivery platform. Once registered for a course the student can access the course as often as they like during the following 30 days.
Access is through the TM Forum website and no special software is required.
There are two ways to register. You can simply visit the online training registration page select your preferred course and pay for the course using your credit card. The selected course will be made available to you within one business day and will be available for 30 days unlimited access. Alternatively, companies may purchase blocks of seats for a course. An e-voucher will be issued that provides pre-paid registration for the course for the number of seats purchased by the company. The e-voucher is valid for 90 days and distribution of the evoucher is at the company’s control. Anyone in possession of the e-voucher code can register to the course during the 90 day period up to the maximum number of seats purchased by the company. Once registered, the course will be made available within one business day and will be available for 30 days unlimited access. For additional security, employees using the e-voucher should register using their business email address e.g using a valid email domain provided to the TM Forum by the company.
Yes. All members qualify automatically for a 20% discount off the cost of the course. There are additional discounts avaiable to companies who make bulk purchases of seats. Contact education@tmforum.org for more information on these discounts.
You will get a certificate of completion for the course which you can download and print. You may als elect to sit the Cloud Essentials or the Virtualization Essentials exam. The exam fee is included in the cost of your course. Exams are available online. In order to schedule your exam session please contact exams@itpreneurs.org. Career certifications are only available to you if your company is a TM Forum member company.
The exams are available online and are administered by a specialist company, you can take the exam at your office. When you are ready to sit the exam please contact exams@itpreneurs.com to schedule your exam session. You will need to provide your username, and confirmation of payment, as proof that you are eligible to sit the exam. Please note that a registered proctor needs to be present when you take the exam. The proctor is someone who does not directly benefit from you passing the exam, and is registered as part of the scheduling process.
The Cloud Essentials exam consists of 50 questions with a passing score of 720 out of a possible 900. The Virtualization Essentials exam consists of 40 questions with a passing score of 65%, which means that you need to have 26 questions correct. Both exams are multiple–choice format and last for 60 minutes. Exams are web-based in English. Both Essentials courses include exam preparation modules. A sample exam is provided as part of the course material.
On passing the Cloud Essentials exam you will receive a certification issued by CompTIA and TM Forum/ECLC, on passing the Virtualization Essentials exam, you will receive a certificate issued by The Cloud Credential Council and TM Forum/ECLC In addition, TM Forum will introduce a Cloud Career Certification in July 2012. This will be similar to our existing Career Certification qualifications and will be awarded when an individual passes a predefined combination of exams. A Career Certification e-badge will be issued and the individual will be listed as certified on the TM Forum career certification website.
