TM Forum Tackles Management of Converging Services Head-on at Management World Americas 2007
Monday, November 05, 2007

Dallas, TX, November 5, 2007 –The TM Forum announced today that its Management World Americas 2007 event is focused on the management needs that arise out of converging communications, information and entertainment services. The event, which takes place at the Adams Mark Hotel, November 4-8, 2007 will showcase a number of major new initiatives by the group to tackle the growing problems of creating, delivering and paying for this range of services.

To meet those challenges, the Forum is addressing the entire value chain and the need to manage from any content source to any device.

“The value chain delivering these services is expanding rapidly to include content, web, cable and device players, so our work at the Forum must expand to embrace that,” said Keith Willetts, Chairman of the TM Forum. “Since announcing this approach last year, we have already launched major new initiatives in content and device management and have taken the industry lead in defining the management of service delivery platforms. “

Newly announced initiatives that address the management needs of the end to end value chain include:

• The brand new “Content Encounter” walk through experience
• The formation of a new interest group dedicated to End-User Remote Device Management (RDM)
• The recent launch of a cable interest group within the Forum, and a sharp rise in new cable members
• This year’s converged catalyst showcase on display in “Forumville”
• Our newly expanded benchmarking program that incorporates both operational and business process benchmarking
