Getting Started with the SID is the second in a series of books that describe how to adopt and apply the TM Forum’s NGOSS (New Generation Operations Systems and Software) program. This book focuses on practical guidance for implementing the Shared Information/Data (SID) model. It describes how the SID can be used to realize the goals of NGOSS including how to:
- Use the SID development lifecycle and tools that support the SID
- Work with the SID in the real world
- Learn the importance of SID modeling patterns and their application
- Implement and extend the SID
Through the example of how TM Forum member companies are using the SID to address today’s business challenges, readers receive exemplary guidance on how to transform the SID information model into the SID data model.
Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), a provider of leading application infrastructure software to develop, deploy, integrate and manage business applications, has sponsored the publication of the book. Included with each book is an up to date version of the SID information model.
The TM Forum’s SID is the NGOSS information model. It provides an information/data reference model and a common information/data vocabulary from a business as well as a systems perspective.
The book’s author, John Reilly will be at TeleManagement World, in Progress Software’s booth, #89, on Tuesday May 22 from noon to 1:30pm, and then again on Wednesday from noon to 1:30pm and 5 – 6pm, signing copies of the book. Progress will give a free copy of the book to all registered TeleManagement World Nice conference attendees.
