TR144, Frameworx Tooling, Version 2.0

This technical report was produced by the Frameworx Tooling Program and is an update to the previous TR144 v1.0 which outlined the requirements for the development of TM Forum artifacts from a tooling environment perspective. This version expands the original scope by including requirements needed to facilitate the adoption of TM Forum Frameworx. A number of audiences will benefit from the information in this document, namely Enterprise Architects, System Integrators and Software Tool Vendors.

This document is intended to be an excellent source of information to Enterprise Architects in providing details of supported exchange formats for component Frameworx as well as outlining how to use Frameworx to scope Business Services and interoperable interfaces.

System Integrators and Software Tool Vendors will benefit from the requirements contained to facilitate roadmap planning to identify the functionality needed to support the adoption of Frameworx.

The technical report establishes the linkage between The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Architecture Development Methodology and required Frameworx tooling capabilities to support this methodology. It documents the requirements and the use cases related to the use of the Frameworx artifacts by TM Forum members for specification of the various aspects of the Enterprise Architecture, including transformation.

The technical report also captures the use cases for the production and maintenance of TM Forum artifacts, and defines requirements for effective use of tools across the TM Forum technical teams. It also describes the tools currently in use by technical teams within the TM Forum in the production of the TM Forum artifacts.
