Only then, one can prioritize and rank the processes the organization should keep 'live' in the case of crisis.
The traditional technical DRP approach relies on planning and implementing a DR solution for the critical platforms in the organization. But platforms are only enablers of the business processes, and in order to decide where to put one’s money, one should first identify the BP, understand what platforms, premises and people are essential for supporting this BP and keeping it 'live'.
Partner communications has used the eTOM framework as its basic blue print for mapping and ranking its BP’s, in a bottom-up & top-down approach, where could see and understand the whole organizational process map & approve the BCP scope.
