Management World Americas 2009

Tuesday December 8 2009

Forumville – Everything TM Forum under One Roof

In the usual format of Forumville, we are featuring themed zones that reflect current hot topics in the industry. Within each zone, we are exhibiting a range of TM Forum programs and our unique multi-member Catalyst Demonstration Projects. These Catalysts are the highlight of Forumville – bringing innovative, not-seen-anywhere-else ideas and solutions to life.  Catalysts leverage leading-edge IT concepts and couple them with TM Forum Best Practices and Standards to create real, deployable answers to real, bottom-line challenges.

In Forumville in Orlando, we have 6 Catalyst demonstrations, plus 3 previews of Catalysts that are slated for Management World 2010 in Nice, taking place next May.

Cloud Initiative

Like all services, if they aren’t manageable, they can’t be profitable.  Cloud services are no different.  In the Cloud Initiative Zone, you will experience TM Forum’s first step into this exciting new world.

Catalyst Project:  Service Model Catalyst – Getting Telecom to Cloud 9

In this project, the goal is to reduce the time and cost to launch new converged products provided from both the CSP and the Cloud (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS).  This will be done through achieving consistent Service Model definition for services from the CSP, web services and Cloud services.  The team will demonstrate a Holistic Service Catalog that facilitates Service Lifecycle Management functional definitions for all services: create/define, fulfill, assure.

Catalyst Preview: Cloud Billing & Revenue Management

Join the Cloud Services Initiative team in Forumville to preview upcoming Catalyst thought leadership work in cloud computing charging, billing and revenue management led by Amdocs.

Catalyst Preview: Inter-Cloud Management

This Catalyst will examine the role of TM Forum Frameworks, network abstraction layers, enterprise service architectures and standards from other organizations in the deployment of these future inter-cloud services.

Service Oriented Transformation

Centered around some of TM Forum’s most well established Best Practices and Standards, in this zone visitors will earn how TM Forum Benchmarking, Solution Frameworks (NGOSS), Business Process Framework (eTOM), Service Delivery Framework, Interfaces and more can be applied in the wireline, 4G/wireless and cable industries to enable service oriented transformation.

Catalyst Project:  New Generation Data Migration – A Key Enabler for Business Transformation

Using the TM Forum Information Framework (SID) and Solution Framework Business Services (contracts), this demonstration addresses application data migration as one of the key requirements in ensuring successful application deployments with the least amount of risk, ensuring low costs, fast ROI and time to value.

Defense

This zone focuses on TM Forum Best Practices and Standards in action in support of Defense projects. Learn about the new Cyber Security Initiative and how TM Forum contributes to success stories in defense implementations.

Catalyst Project:  Collaborated E2E Operation and Service Management -- Policy-based Management System Network Interoperability

By bringing together defense operators and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) vendors, this project addresses integration and operational challenges faced by the trends of global information management through the implementation of TM Forum standards and emerging technologies.  This demonstration showcases a policy-based management system focused on terrestrial networks owned and operated by different entities to support E2E connectivity, including space communications. This is achieved by applying and extending TM Forum’s Business Process & Information Frameworks, and also includes application of IPsphere.

Customer Experience and Revenue Management

This zone centers on proactively managing customers and revenue to increase satisfaction and the bottom line. In this area, visitors will learn about TM Forum’s established SLA Management guidelines, Revenue Management Program and new Managing Customer Experience initiative.

Catalyst Project:  Harmony Phase 5 -- Harmonizing the Standards to Manage Customer Experience

In this project, the team is focused on the business goal of minimizing the gap between customer expectations and real experience in order to increase retention, accelerate acquisition and improve overall brand value. Through the use of processes, metrics and customer experience management applications, the team demonstrates how specification and implementation of the TM Forum Solution Frameworks, Integration Contracts (based on SOA), as well as TM Forum interfaces for Ordering, Activation, Fault and Performance Management are leveraged to create solutions for examples of both residential and Enterprise services.

Content and Advertising

With the expanded set of partners and business models that all service providers are operating in today, learning about TM Forum’s best practices in managing the end-to-end value chain is more critical than ever.
