On Tuesday morning here at Management World 2010 in Nice, the TM Forum 2010 Excellence Award winners were announced in front a diverse audience of attendees from all over the world.
This year’s Excellence Awards cover four distinct categories: 
The Operational Excellence Award highlights achievements of service providers delivering significant cost savings, efficiency improvements and reducing time-to-market through use of TM Forum standards. WINNER:  |  | | |
The Industry Leadership Award, which is new this year, places TM Forum members in the spotlight for their ongoing efforts to ensure the evolution, uptake and adoption of TM Forum standards. WINNER:  | | | | 
The Solution Excellence Award recognizes suppliers and system integrators who are working to reduce the “integration tax” for the industry by adopting TM Forum standards and delivering truly innovative products. WINNER:  | | | | 
The Innovation Award – also new this year – recognizes the most creative companies that are delivering novel and innovative services, products and experimenting with new business models. WINNER: | |
According to Nik Willetts, Chief Marketing Officer for TM Forum, “Competition for the Forum’s prestigious awards is always fierce, but the record number and diversity of the nominations from the outset meant that this year it was stronger than ever. The sheer volume and the quality of the entries is a true testament to the Awards and the value the industry places on them. Our sincere congratulations to all of this year’s winners.”
In addition, TM Forum President Martin Creaner recognized three individuals as new Distinguished Fellows. The TM Forum’s Distinguished Fellow Award recognizes individuals who have made valuable contributions to the TM Forum and the communications industry. The award is given out to those who have:
• A lengthy and sustained record of service to the industry and to TM Forum
• Contributed to the technical excellence of the TM Forum
• Helped to materially advanced the OSS/BSS industry
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork
• Shown a commitment to helping advance the principles of the TM Forum in the communications industry
• A proven track record of achievements and accomplishments

• John Wilmes, Chief Technical Architect, Progress Software
