If you have been looking for a jump start to your NGOSS projects this is a must see webinar. Hear about the NGOSS software tools now available which will help automate development of NGOSS-based solutions, enable SOA architecture, and as a result help service providers of all kinds drive services to market faster.

In the first segment of this webinar, Stephen Gaito from the TM Forum will provide an overview of two of the key NGOSS elements, the Enhanced Telecom Operations Map® (eTOM) and the Shared Information and Data (SID) Model, how they relate to each other and why they are important in building easy to integrate, standards-based and SOA-based OSS/BSS solutions. Attendees will learn how eTOM and SID can be used in various industry-available tools via interchange formats mandated by the TM Forum.

The TM Forum’s Stephen Gaito will give a brief outline of what the NGOSS SID and eTOM are, how they relate, why they are important and finally give an overview of how they can be used in various tools via interchange formats mandated by the TM Forum NGOSS tools strategy.

The eTOM, or Enhanced Telecom Operations Map, is the industry’s standard for business process language in communications providers, and is in use by hundreds of service providers, systems integrators and vendors all over the world. The SID, or Shared Information/Data (SID) Model, is the cornerstone of the TM Forum’s flagship OSS/BSS framework, NGOSS, and is the communications industry’s widely accepted, widely used common language for building easy to integrate, easy to change OSS and BSS solutions, particularly in SOA environments.

The second portion of the Webinar, Derek Seabury from Progress Software and Peter Bittner from IBM will discuss how industry leading tools from their respective companies are being used in practical ways by service providers to lower the integration tax for OSS/BSS and enable rapid and cost-effective introduction of new revenue-generating services.

They will discuss specific examples of how service providers today are using NGOSS and these tools in the transformation of legacy, inflexible OSS to flexible, NGOSS-based SOA environments. IBM's Rational and WebSphere products, in combination with Progress Software's DataXtend SI, provide a complete solution for the modelling and implementation of a SID-based Common Information Model and eTOM-based business processes, enabling an agile and customer-centric OSS solution for supporting rapid introduction of new and innovative services. The speakers will use examples from a tier-one service provider's OSS Transformation project as part of their presentation, as well.

Attendees will gain an understanding of how the TM Forum’s tools strategy coupled with specific tools from IBM and Progress can work together today to deliver an complete “tool chain” to support NGOSS adoption. In addition, attendees will learn how service providers can use these tools to take initial small steps to realize benefits from NGOSS today as well as how these tools can support large-scale OSS/BSS transformation projects using NGOSS.
