Business Transformation Top of Mind for Service Providers

Transformation is on everyone’s lips these days in the communications industry and for good reason. Providers know they can no longer conduct business as usual when they are facing stiff competition, being forced to lower costs across the board and having to deal with the long arm of regulators.

The Successful Business Transformation Summit here at Management World 2010 this week is investigating new business models, growth strategies, regulation and infrastructure and the need to master data management and migration. It is also addressing the lessons learned and what’s next in the migration to next-generation all-IP networks through highly interactive and collaborative case studies.

On Tuesday, speakers from BT Group, Generation Communication, Inc. and Net Servicos de Comunicacao looked at profitability through business transformation; and during a session on winning transformation and managed services strategies, attendees heard from Mobistar and TeliaSonera.

Wednesday was a jam-packed lineup of topics covering innovative business strategies to drive success, business transformation through standards and frameworks, environmental opportunities and regulatory challenges and growth through next generation business models. Speakers included representatives from Telecom New Zealand, Virgin Mobile USA, Telstra, Deutsche Telekom, Bharti Airtel, Telefonica and Cox Communications.

And finally on Thursday, speakers from Vodafone Group, Ascom Deutschland, Telefonica I+D and Cox Communications will speak on growing the bottom line via accurate information and new strategies for profitable business transformation.
