My latest training adventure took me to the Pacific Northwest in the United States. As a seafood aficionado I was in the right place…pan fried oysters, Dungeness crab, and fresh shrimp…yummy. Oops, off on one of my tangents!
The successful use of the Information around the world continues. The training consisted of SID Distilled and the also popular SID Modeler’s workshop to a group of information architects, some of whom had already taken advantage of the Product domain. It seems that the Product, Service, and Resource domains are the most popular. But, for those SID implementers looking for a dynamic model that supports customer profiling, take a look at Party Profile and Demographics in the Market/Sales domain.
Students and implementers still wonder why the Supplier/Partner domain has not been developed. Anyone interested in developing this domain is welcome to place a post on the SID community expressing interest. Many of us think that most of the work has been done in the other domains…using inheritance is the key.
That’s it for now, but I’ll be off to eastern Canada on my next adventure, teaching a new member about the Solution Frameworks and also another go round for the SID Modeler’s workshop. More on this when I return.
