Nothing like some good Montreal-style smoked meat when traveling north of the border (United States border, that is!) along with a favorite treat of cheese fries with gravy…not a bad meal or two.
OK, enough of my gastric adventures.
The recently completed Blueprint Initiative combined with the work being done by the Architecture Harmonization team brought the long-existing service-orientation of the TM Forum Solution frameworks to the forefront. While a somewhat hidden aspect of the frameworks, many members had been using the SID , eTOM, TAM, and what is fondly know as the TNA, or Technology Neutral Architecture, as the basis for creating a service-orientation to their enterprise and application architectures.
So, in Canada last week, I had the opportunity to present our body of work to a member that has service-orientation in mind. In fact, they are well on their way to becoming a Service Oriented Enterprise as part of a business transformation project. While there, quite a celebration welcomed the successful launch of a new satellite, which alludes a little to the member’s line of business.
This experience further confirms the benefit of using the Solution Frameworks for not only structuring, but also implementing, a service-oriented approach to meeting the challenges we face today. In fact, we are currently considering adding a one day course in Orlando that provides more detail on this approach.
My next adventure will take me to India the week of 12th Oct. Look for another installment shortly thereafter.
