I was in Romania last week as a guest of Romtelecom. The training course was high in the mountains of Transylvania. A beautiful location.
One thing was clear to me though, taking an exam immediately after the training course puts a lot of pressure on the class and, I believe, detracts from the experience. This is why from now on we will be actively discouraging this practice and strongly suggesting that, before taking an examination, students take a few weeks to gain some practical experience and apply their knowledge. I believe that with this additional period, students will have a much improved chance of passing.
As I said Transylvania was beautiful, no vampires despite being less that 40 km from the Count's castle (although raw garlic was served with the evening meal).
They need to do something about the mosquitoes though, two of the little devils bit me on the neck :-)
