Ok, forgive the pun but I'm just back from Bangalore in India where they know a thing or two about spices and how to use them in their cooking.
As ever, I had a great week. One thing that the Forum does very well indeed is to promote inter-cultural relationships. As well as people from all over India, I had the opportunity to meet and interact with folks from Australia, New Zealand and even a fellow Scot!
Unusually, I was there to deliver two different types of course. The first two days was a joint training session with one of our member Companies, Alcatel-Lucent. They are in the midst of delivering a major project and we used the course to bring their people up-to-speed on the project, the TM Forum Frameworx and how Alcatel Lucent were leveraging Frameworx to help to both construct and deliver the project.
I cannot mention anything more at this time, but the project is really exciting so be sure not to miss the Alcatel-Lucent presentation at TM World!
The second part of the week was an open-enrolment course, well two actually, the
Business Process Framework Distilled and the
Business Process Framework Implementer's Workshop. These courses usually go down very well and this was no exception. In fact the mix of experience of the attendees together with their willingness to share this experience within the class, made these three days rather special. For not only was the mix of member Companies substantial - we had people from all sorts of organizations - Service Providers, ISVs, Consultants, Infrastructure Management, Outsourcing, and so on, but within those groups we had a range of experience and responsibility that covered everything from Strategy, Infrastructure and Product, through Operations and even some Enterprise Management - the three primary areas of the Business Process Framework (eTOM).
The sharing of both information and perspective was the key to the success of last week. Students not only learning but teaching, and the benefit was obvious.
Until next time
