A new chapter?

Share |
Hello everyone,

I'm not long back from a couple of weeks in Australia and New Zealand on a joint Training and working with a member trip.

The training was in Melbourne and on the last day we had a fire drill at 4pm, as the training was scheduled to finish somewhere between 4:30 and 5, I was not too surprised when the class packed up at the sound of the alarm and said goodbye at the fire assembly point!

As always in that part of the world the class were enthusiastic, taught me some bonzer Australian words and all swapped mail addresses promising to keep in touch after the event.

This prompted a class discussion on the viability of creating an "Australasian Chapter" of the TM Forum, along the lines of the South American community. As an action, I said that I would canvass support for the idea in my blog and if enough interest was shown, we could create such a community.

So this is the call for participation, if you would be interested in supporting / joining such a community or even better if you are interested in helping to organize or could host a meeting, then let me know by email achalmers@tmforum.org or by responding to this blog.

I'm optimistic of a good response

Until next time

"gidday"

Andrew

Hey Andy, did me fellow countrymen teach you the word 'wally'?

'Gidday' means hello, like John Reilly's incessant 'howdy'. Goodbye is 'see ya'! ;-)

I'm all for an Aussie chapter to spread some culture through the TM Forum.

Hi Andrew,

I think a local TMForum community here is Oz would really be great. I thought there was a lot of positive discussion and areas of mutual interest as we went through the course - would be a shame if it was to cease there.

I'm certainly happy and keen to get involved in this.

Interested to hear how other such Community Groups or chapters are set-up and how they are run by the TMForum in other parts of the world.

Who else is interested?

Cheers,

Mark

G'day Andrew,

Count me in, certainly here in the Amdocs Melbourne office we have plenty of TMForum-literate people (of a wide variety of cultures not just Aussie!)

Hi Andrew,

Remember me from Nice?  It's kind of ironic that when you travel to my city, I am flitting off to Malaysia!  Oh well, next time.

I for one would be interested in joining and participating in an Australasian / Oceanic / Asia Pacific (whatever flies) chapter of the TMF.

Ooroo

(Ozzie for godbye)

Andrew ;-)
