I spent last week in Cyprus teaching and working with a member on developing a Frameworx-based RFx as I mentioned in my last blog. I grew up on the East Coast of the US and, as a result, seafood was a big part of my diet. Traveling the Cyprus, surrounded by water, made me think of trying some local seafood, and I wasn’t disappointed. The member took us to Paragadi, one of the best if not the best, seafood restaurants on the island. There we had Fish Meze, what seemed like a never-ending feast. I got worn out eating. Then Cypriot sweets arrived at the table. I thought I was in heaven! Check out the web site for the menu and recipes…http://www.paragadi.com.cy/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=10&Itemid=8&lang=en#.
This past week has also worn me out from a TM Forum community perspective, reading and responding to posts and questions. Not that I am complaining; it is a good worn out feeling versus a bad worn out feeling! I don’t think there has been this much activity in the Information Framework (SID) and Business Process Framework (eTOM) communities for quite some time, if ever. Everything from pre-provisioning, product configuration, and ordering processes in the eTOM community and shared with the SID community to questions in the SID community about core business entities, another blog from Andrew McFadyen, and naming standards. PS…I only use these two areas of the community as examples.
The community is a great place to pose questions, initiate a discussion, become involved in discussions, find out about what is of interest to members, and such. All this doesn’t just stop in the discussions areas of the community. They often result in contributions or change requests…or blogs like this one.
Get involved. You can start by visiting the community at http://www.tmforum.org/Community/. During your visit you may also want to subscribe to receive posts automatically, either as they are made or a daily or weekly summary so you can keep up to date.
I’ll be on the road again next week doing some teaching in McLean, VA for five days. Hmmm…close to the East Coast again.
