Management World Orlando 2011 was certainly a busy place to be last week. And, quite eye-opening. From a culinary perspective I turned some shredded pork and chicken made as a sandwich with tortillas into a street vendor taco by taking the top off and using it as a double layer of tortillas folded over the fillings, which included a spicy pepper jack cheese. If you want to learn more about this south of the border delight, here is a link… http://www.texasmonthly.com/food/recipefiles/Meat%3A... -
Team Action Week Baltimore was certainly a success, with more attendees and work accomplished than in quite a few years past. While there I was treated to dinner at Charleston, an unforgettable restaurant, where a simple rock fish was transformed into a true delight for the palate. Check it out at http://www.charlestonrestaurant.com/ . A couple of blogs ago I wrote about flames and sparks in Sydney that describes a friendly debate with a TM Forum member about the uses of the Information Framework... -
I spent the last two weeks on vacation, cruising down the Danube river with my wife Jeannie. It seemed like, as with a lot of vacations, we fell into a pattern during our visits to a number of cities. Seeing the town center, palaces and castles, and eating. And there were some things that didn’t fit the pattern, such as when we decided to have a good ol’ American hamburger in Budapest. We all live with patterns and non-patterns. The components of TM Forum Frameworx contain both. Patterns... -
I love seafood and was looking forward to some at a restaurant on the “Rocks” last week in Sydney, Australia that is. However, one of my TM Forum member pals and his wife convinced me to try a French restaurant with them. And, I am glad I did…a wonderful three course taste of France, starting with Coquilles Saint-Jacques, then Steak au Poivre, and a desert of flaming crepes ( Crepes Flambe). The restaurant is “Chez Maurice and Linda”. Chefs Maurice Migneron welcomed... -
Back from the hugely successful Nice Management World conference, sitting here thinking about Pizza Coco. It is where, over my last eleven conferences, I experienced some of the best thin-thin crust pizza that has ever made its way into my mouth! Two ingredients, often missing from pizzas I have had, are a good dose of oregano and an egg broken into the middle of the pizza just before it is taken from the oven. Pizza Coco doesn’t forget these, egg on demand, however. Before getting into the main... -
I mentioned I would be in St Louis the week of 3 rd January and while there I had planned to visit one of my favorite Italian restaurants on the Hill (famous for its Italian eateries) in St. Louis. Zia’s is the name. However, distance and weather prevented me from making the trek. Next time, maybe, but if you are ever in St. Louis, a trip to the Hill should be in your travel plans. My traveling companion and co-teacher, Pierre Gauthier, said “so what, who cares about Zia’s?” My reaction to his statement... | | Paid Advertisement | | | | | Copyright © 1988-2012, TeleManagement Forum.
