What tools do you use or would like to develop NGOSS solutions?

Welcome to this new thread that has been created to provide a community area to discuss the use of tools for the development of NGOSS solutions.

Please let us know what tools you are currently using or what tools you would like to see developed to help you to develop real solutions using the NGOSS framework e.g. eTOM, SID, TAM.

Feel free to ask advise from other users re what tools are available and how other members have used them in their development process.

We are thinking about developing a 'tools map' that will show what commercial tools are available to support NGOSS and where they fit.  Do you think that this would be useful, and if so what information would you like to see us capture?

    Thanks,

    Ian

I think that this thread is a great idea. I'd love to hear about existing tools from the users themselves (Versus "Vendors").

I would like feedback from operators regarding multi-vendor configuration management through their various OSS platforms, sort of like a 'master oss' that pushes out a universal configurations via their various vendor OSS platforms.

I know that we're all collectively heading in this direction through the OSS/J and NGOSS projects, but we're not quite there yet...

    Thanks,

    Shawn

    Hi Ian.

First at all, somebody in the community could give some help in spanish?

We use the eTOM in our organization in Central America and we have a lot of questions about it but we need support in spanish.

    Thanks.

I'm interested in any first-hand experience with Pantero, now Progress DataExtend SI.

    Thanks

We use Pantero for some of our design work.

I can provide some feedback off line if you want.

Shawn you may want to look at TIBCO for this. We are integrating 5 vendors NMS's into what you call a Master OSS and used a number of the NGOSS documents as a guide on how to do this. We are using BW for the process automation and BE for the rules. Protocols are CORBA and SNMP.

Currently it handles the monitoring, analysis and troubleshooting and work order management. Plus, real time SLA monitoring. In the future we plan to increase the use of automated processes for provisioning.

    Hi,

We are thinking of using it.
Psl. provide some feedback; if anyone has the details.

    Thanks.
