Second phase of the C2M work will be started now
According to the vision of the "Concept-To-Market Best Practices" team the goal is to help operators and service providers to improve their concept-to-market processes by leveraging the solution framework of the TMF (i.e. eTOM and SID).
To archieve this, C2M needs to provide the missing piece of the puzzle, that is agile project management techniques - so main focus of the C2M work is the project lifecycle within concept to market processes and the dependencies from governance processes within the enterprise.
The first step was to work on the foundation to provide a common understanding about terminology and "building blocks" to document best practices aligned with the semantics of the solution framework. The results of the foundation work can be found in the group wiki.
The team provided some enhancements of the Project ABE in SID - mainly by contributing entities, which are specific for the SCRUM methodology, by applying the blade concept in SID. Another part of the foundation is the refinement of eTOM level 3 process elements for "Project & programme management". These process elements can be used for process flows that are specific for diffent types of projects and different project management techniques.
The results of the foundation work will be discussed of the eTOM and SID teams to become part of the solution framework. Obviously this foundation work will be be refined and become more mature by being applied in the next phase work of the C2M team, too.
So this next step will be to document best practices for undertake C2M projects of various type, leveraging the TMF solution framework. As mentioned ealier the team will focus on agile project management techniques to optimize efficiency, customer experience and quality.
Goal is to have a very first verson of a C2M guidebook, containing these best practices until end of this year.
The C2M team needs your help for achieving this!
So any contribution is more than appreciated!
