| | | What is the eHealth Group?
eHealth represents the intersection of advanced ICT with the provision of healthcare services. It covers everything from mobile diagnostic monitoring to electronic health records to robust distance medicine applications. It holds the promise of enabling healthcare providers to be more efficient – delivering better care to a wider population of patients while cutting down on administrative time and costs. In particular, mHealth (using mobile devices to monitor patient’s conditions) holds a lot of opportunity for CSPs because of the need for security, privacy, quality & other service level parameters. The major challenges are the complexity and size of the ecosystem – involving the global healthcare and insurance industries as well as governments – each with their own operational model. Regulation is significant in most regions and while similarities exist from market to market, the specifics can vary widely (especially in the area of billing & charging processes). This Community will explore ways for CSPs to leverage this opportunity. What is the Focus? How to Participate
This is an emerging market - one that is making itself in front of our eyes. If you want to participate and help shape the debate, step 1 is to join this Interest Group. Step 2 is to begin posting your thoughts and engaging in a discussion with others. The broader remit of this group is to explore a number of avenues and engage with others across the communications and healthcare industries. What are the Deliverables Part of the challenge is to figure out what is needed. And this may vary depending on whether the audience is comprised of communications people or healthcare people. Among the things discussed are: - White Papers explaining the needs, requirements and capabilities from each perspective
- Self-Guided Slide Decks, Webinars and Podcasts
- Presentations at conferences
- Roundtable meetings between CSP and Healthcare Executives
- Catalysts
