Paris TAW - Very Active for the Revenue Management Initiative
For those of you whose schedules did not allow attending Team Action Week Paris 2011, those who did attend would undoubtedly attest to the fact that you missed a real "barn burner" as we say where I grew up (for those of you to whom this is a puzzling colloquialism, let it suffice to say that you wish you could have been there).
In addtion to 6 of the 8 standing Online Community Groups in the Revenue Management Initiative (RMI), there was the unique opportunity for rich interaction with Service Provider members afforded by the Frameworx Spotlight event of Monday and Tuesday. Monday afternoon saw three roundtable sessions focused on RMI topic areas: Enterprise Risk Management (including Fraud Management and Revenue Assurance), Data Analytics, plus Charging and Billing. These sessions were stimulated by the presentation of survey questionnaires in the respective areas which had been sent to Service Provider member participants in December of last year. The results of the surveys and the results of the roundtable discussions have been summarized in short slide decks and can be found here. There is too much information to try to detail it here, but I invite you to look over the materials on the web.
One other significant change that came about to the RMI was the formation of the above-mentioned 8th Online Community Group, Business Enablement. This group was initiated in response to interest expressed by member company MDS (formerly Martin Dawes Systems) and is being led in this launch by Rob Smith of MDS. This group puts in place the piece of the RMI concept to realize the Lean Value Stream Management theme central to effective profitablity from revenues earned (the theme of a Management World Asia track I chaired in Singapore last week). The Business Enablement Group is the delivery vehicle for the marketing strategy being promulgated by Tony Poulos from his BSS Evangelist position and supporting the Product Management plans surrounding a new product line component, Quick Start Packs. For those of you looking to play a part in influencing how the industry manages in the transformed future with an enterprise-wide scope, you should step up to helping Rob make this new group successful.
Finally, I am acting as Mentor to three RMI-related Catalyst Projects in the areas of Revenue Assurance and Customer-centric Data Analytics. These projects are slated to debut at Management World Dublin in May and promise to stimulate much new thinking in the work of the Collaboration Program, especially as I am strongly urging concrete Frameworx product enhancements to be produced as an output. I hope all of you can consider joining us all in Dublin to see this first hand and discuss it with the participants.
I want to thank everyone who participated in TAW Paris and give a special appreciation to the group leaders who displayed first-class intitiative in making their team meetings productive and lively.
