Open Source Working Table Interest Group

The aim of the Open Source Working Table Interest Group is to strategically address the OpenSource Software phenomenon, through the creation of a community of Service Providers that manages synergy trends and Open Source tool adoption, creating value from new approaches and technologies, and reducing risk of OpenSource Adoption

The objectives of the group are to:
  • Build and share experiences on different OpenSource (OS) solutions from each Service Provider (SP)
  • Create and maintain a knowledge base of OS competencies, OS product catalog, and Brokers, with rating and ranking of each
  • Collaborate with OS top communities and be strategically involved
  • Develop a roadmap of critical OS solutions
  • Gather SP needs on OS solutions and address them through identified channels
  • Manage the opening of the SP’s internally developed sw solutions

  • Create common information to support Business Cases for procurements
  • Develop a Common Technical Framework to assist procurements
  • Advise on appropriate application of strategic industry trends.
  • Provide procurement details driven by TM Forum specifications (eg NGOSS) and appropriate positioning of other industry Group specifications.
  • Engage with Supplier Community in a structured fashion and at earlier stage in the procurement lifecycle

For more information on the Large Scale Buyers Council please contact Tony Richardson at trichardson@tmforum.org

More information on both these initiatives will be available during Q3 2008.
