NGOSS is the TM Forum’s flagship New Generation Operations Systems and Software program, which delivers business guidelines, a developers toolkit and standardized interface definitions to guide the definition, development, procurement, and deployment of interoperable OSS/BSS solutions.
NGOSS’s provides a set of off-the-shelf tool to help product managers, analysts and developers define products and solutions and then design them using industry standards throughout the process.
NGOSS tools fit into three categories:
| Tools for Defining Business Requirements |
|
| Work such as the eTOM and SID which are part of the NGOSS framework provide a common language for processes and information. Documents such as the SLA Handbook and the Revenue Assurance Guidebook step you through what it means to have a good solution for their respective business areas. |
| NGOSS Developers Toolkit |
|
| Provides tools to developers to enable development of NGOSS compliant software components and solutions that are based on off-the-shelf standards, easy to integrate, and flexible. Using the NGOSS framework saves development time and effort as well as enabling creation of industry standard solutions to fit into complex service provider OSS/BSS environments. |
| Pre-defined NGOSS Compliant Interfaces |
|
| Built using the NGOSS framework, the NGOSS Compliant Interfaces provide industry standard interface definitions for meeting specific OSS/BSS integration challenges. Examples include MTNM, MTOSI, CO~OP, and OSS/J. These interface definitions are built on the NGOSS standard eTOM and SID and provide the user with guidelines and models they can take off the shelf and use in their own software development environments. | |
