Over 50 Catalyst teams are developing solutions to industry challenges faced by communications service providers and their technology partners. These projects will be showcased at our DTW23 – Ignite! event in Copenhagen on September 19-21, 2023. This year, there are two sets of Catalyst Awards: the Open Innovation Catalyst Awards and the Moonshot Catalyst Awards. The Open Innovation Catalyst Awards recognize projects that address key industry challenges with engaging, innovative, and impactful solutions. The Moonshot Catalyst Awards, acknowledge Catalysts that aim to solve Moonshot challenges by providing groundbreaking and commercially viable technology solutions in a highly interactive manner.

This award recognizes the team that showcases the most compelling business impacts and potential, such as improved performance, cost reduction, enhanced efficiency, streamlined operations, service agility, customer engagement, and more, through well-defined proof points.
This award is presented to the Catalyst that effectively addresses future connectivity needs by offering innovative and commercially viable technology solutions utilizing the capabilities of the Metaverse.
Awarded to the Catalyst that demonstrates the most compelling business impact & potential.
This award recognizes the team that demonstrates the highest potential to positively impact society and contribute to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This award recognizes the team that presents the most impactful showcase demonstration, effectively highlighting the innovation, commercial viability, and relevance of their solution to industry concerns.
This award recognizes the team that exemplifies the most impactful utilization of TM Forum assets in their Catalyst project, while also quantifying the tangible benefits derived from employing these assets.
This award recognizes the Catalyst that showcases exceptional potential for new growth, surpassing the expansion achieved through conventional connectivity offerings. It highlights the effective utilization of digital enablers (such as IoT, CaaS – Connectivity as a Service, ZTP – Zero Touch Partnering, and marketplaces) to drive business growth and success.
This award recognizes the team that has developed the most innovative and futuristic technology solution aimed at driving digital transformation within the industry.
For Phase-I/New Catalysts only, this award recognizes the Phase 1 Catalyst team that exemplifies the most collaborative behavior and presents a compelling and innovative solution with the potential to transform the telecommunications industry.
This award recognizes the Catalyst that showcases the best utilization of AI and Automation to drive efficiency and growth, all while ensuring sustainable scalability and ethical practices.
Awarded to the Catalyst team that uses the program to make most substantial contribution to TM Forum’s assets.
A new category introduced by the judges at the event itself, to recognize the distinguished focus of one particular Catalyst addressing the key challenge of culture & talent across the industry.
Judges wanted to recognize this key Catalyst as deserving a special mention for their outstanding future potential.
Submissions for the DTW23 - Ignite Catalyst Awards opened on July 3, 2023 and will close on August 25, 2023. All Catalysts have to submit an Awards submission form to become eligible for the awards, indicating the respective category(ies) their teams will compete for and providing proof points.
A panel of exceptional industry experts and executives from across global member organizations will come together at DTW23 - Ignite to review and judge the Catalyst projects against specific judging criteria.
Judges will review the Catalyst spaces, the awards submission forms, and will interact with the teams on-site at DTW23 - Ignite to score the teams for their selected award categories. During DTW23 - Ignite, the judges will convene to deliberate on all scores achieved by the Catalyst teams and make the final judgment. The winners were announced on 21 September (as shown above).
Success is measured on how well the Catalysts communicate the key messaging around the challenge addressed, their Catalyst solution and the potential impact on the industry. In addition, Catalyst teams are required to clearly demonstrate and illustrate to the judges the key aspects of their respective judging criteria unique to their chosen Award category.
To ensure an unbiased judging process, we collaborate with distinguished industry experts and executives from a variety of organizations to judge the Open Innovation and Moonshot Catalyst awards.
