Rich Baich
Rich Baich is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer for AT&T. He has previously served as CISO and Director of the Office of Cybersecurity at the Central Intelligence Agency, CISO of AIG, and CISO of Wells Fargo.
Rich’s other security leadership roles have included Naval Cryptologist and Information Warfare Officer, a Principal at Deloitte, Senior Director for Professional Services at Network Associates (now McAfee) and, after 9/11, Special Assistant to the Deputy Director for the FBI’s National Infrastructure Protection Center.
Rich served in the military for 20 years. His roles included Commander in the Information Operations Directorate at NORAD/Northern Command Headquarters and Commanding Officer at the Navy Information Operations Center. He served as a Special Assistant at the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), the NSA Real Time Military Analysis Center, the Reserve Armed Forces Threat Center, the Center for Information Dominance and the NSA Information Operations Technology Center.
In 2005, Rich authored Winning as a CISO, a leadership sourcebook for security executives. He received the 2004 "Information Security Executive of the Year” award in Georgia for his security and pioneering leadership. Rich was selected as an advisor for the 44th and 45th President’s Commission on Cyber Security. He was appointed by the President to serve on the National Infrastructure Advisory Council (NIAC), and he was appointed by the Director of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to serve as a cyber expert on the National Advisory Council (NAC)
Rich is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy, the Naval War College and Joint Forces Staff College. He received his MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
