The vision of the Master-ODA project is to create a unified Open Digital Architecture (ODA) model, where all the elements of ODA are aligned and maintained as a consistent architecture.
The various assets that form ODA are developed and maintained by separate projects (including the Information Systems Architecture project, the Open API project, the Components and Canvas project, etc.) However, some elements of the Open Digital Architecture are bigger than any of these projects and need to be managed by a Master-ODA project.
The project is divided into the following collaborative workstreams, each of which addresses a different aspect of the Master-ODA project vision:
- The ODA Reference Framework: There are elements of ODA that are used by all the ODA projects. The Master-ODA project is responsible for these shared elements and sits across all the other projects. The ODA Reference Framework contains:
- The ODA domains
- The ODA vertical aspects
- The ODA function blocks
- The ODA meta model
- Master-ODA Governance: Since the different ODA assets are developed and maintained by separate projects, there is a need to provide a governance framework to resolve conflicts between projects. The Master-ODA project will provide this framework.
- The MODA Toolset: To make it possible to align the assets we need to maintain the ODA assets in a toolset. This toolset will allow the projects that own the ODA assets to ensure the correct alignment between the assets. This project will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the MODA Toolset.
Note:
The Master-ODA project is one of several projects which contribute to the Open Digital Architecture foundations. The relevant projects are:
- Master-ODA
- End to end ODA
- Business Architecture
- TechCo Organizational Design
- Information systems architecture
- Components and Canvas
- Open APIs
