Evaluation of autonomous network service experience for the cloud network

URN C23.0.573
Topics Autonomous networks

Identify key points of service experience and formulate grading standards, evaluation rules and test specifications.

CSPs’ vertical industry customers of autonomous network features are primarily concerned with cloud network private line services such as e-commerce subscriptions, intelligent cloud access elastic bandwidth, deterministic SLAs, customer-level assurance, and security. The objectives of this Catalyst project are to improve the cloud network experience of vertical users, guide the evolution of autonomous network capabilities of carriers' cloud-network synergy to L3 and L4, streamline the "three-layer and four-loop" of the autonomous network, and facilitate future development to intent APIs (L4 to L5) and further research. To achieve these objectives, the project will verify the E2E network service capabilities of carriers' OSS, OMC, and devices by black-box evaluating the cloud-network service experience. This is a key attempt to streamline the "three-layer and four-loop" of the autonomous network. Invoking and testing northbound APIs between operators' OSSs and OMCs/devices is the key to cross-layer collaboration of autonomous network capabilities. This will facilitate future development to intent APIs (L4 to L5) and further research.

Resources

In 2022, CAICT organized industry partners to launch practices based on CCSA's TC610 AN evaluation system and released IG1218D Best Practice of Level Evaluation for Autonomous Networks Service Experience at TM Forum. Based on the concept of AN, this best practice formulated AN service experience level indicators for cloud-network private lines, guiding CSPs to provide high-quality cloud private lines for enterprise cloudification and industry digital transformation, and to deliver a superior zero-wait, zero-touch, and zero-trouble experience. This project is implemented based on IG1218D, led by China Unicom and CAICT, and participated by Huawei, AsiaInfo, and ZZNode. From the perspective of vertical industry customers, this project focuses on developing technical standards and test specifications for level evaluation of the subscription, provisioning, use, and O&M of cloud-network private lines on Autonomous Networks. In addition, this project evaluated the experience of the cloud-network private line service based on the live network environment of China Unicom.
