Open SATCOM management

URN C23.0.579
Topics Open APIs, Open Digital Architecture (ODA)
Finalist

Helping SATCOM providers win in the $74 Billion (by 2031) SATCOM services market, using standardization, automation and scale.<br>

The SATCOM market requires interoperability across LEO/MEO/GEO satellite fleet operators, their distribution partners, and end customers, with different stakeholders in the SATCOM ecosystem needing to be able to seamlessly interact with each other in order to order, activate, and manage SATCOM services. Standardized architecture models for SATCOM management systems can reduce development efforts, introduce more interoperability, and break vendor lock-in. An Open API standard can further accelerate the commercial interactions required to acquire SATCOM products and activate them. This Catalyst defines a management system architecture framework adapted for SATCOM technologies and use cases. The project will develop functional blocks and APIs that allow for a SATCOM OSS and BSS to: * Comply with TMF Open Digital Framework Model * Support different business roles and business models * Support different SATCOM services * Implement a catalog-driven approach adapted to SATCOM services and resources * Support SATCOM and other network infrastructure technologies and topologies
