Open Digital Architecture (ODA) Action Days

Wednesday, April 4, 2018 9:00am to
Thursday, April 5, 2018 5:00pm

Madrid, Spain

Telecoms is at a crucial turning point. The last decade had previously enjoyed enviable growth for more than 20 years. Services that once returned high margins are being reduced to commodities in the digital world, and our insatiable appetite for data demands continuous investment in infrastructure. On the other hand, communications service providers (CSPs) and their partners are in an excellent position to guide and capitalize on the next wave of digital revolution. The growth opportunities attached to new 5G ecosystems are estimated to be worth over $580 billion in the next decade.

TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture (ODA) project is envisioned as a more agile replacement for traditional operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS) architecture.

Indeed, business-to-consumer markets have been transformed by social media and commerce platforms, enabled by communications service providers’ (CSPs’) multi-billion-dollar investments in global communications networks. But CSPs’ piece of the pie is shrinking, as ubiquitous connectivity has driven down prices, eroded profit margins and lengthened the time it takes for new infrastructure to pay back. This, in turn, slows the cycle of innovation.

These two action days are designed for TM Forum members only that are part of the ODA project group*. You can find more details about the project here

The action days will cover:

  • An updated Functional Architecture diagram to reflect the ODA user scenarios
  • An initial mapping of eTOM process and SID entities to the new diagram
  • Review concepts and principles to assure new diagram adequately addresses them all

Agenda to be finalized.

*If you are not part of the ODA project group you will be unable to attend.
