TM Forum names Telstra AI visionary as co-chair to accelerate Autonomous Networks Mission
TM Forum, the leading global alliance of telco and tech companies, today announced Kim Krogh Andersen, Group Executive, Product & Technology, at Telstra has been appointed as co-chair of the Autonomous Networks Mission Board.
Kim Andersen joined the Mission Board in early 2025, when the Forum sharpened its focus on three industry Missions – Composable IT & Ecosystems, Autonomous Networks and AI & Data – to return the industry to growth in purpose and shareholder value. Since then, Autonomous Networks has gained remarkable momentum, attracting more than 6,400 professionals and 780 organizations around the world.
The Autonomous Networks Mission Board takes strategic accountability for success of the Mission. The ultimate goal is to make full network autonomy a reality across the globe to deliver resilient, secure and tailored connectivity products for the AI-era that can heal themselves and optimize in real time without human intervention.
Together with Kim and this visionary Board, which includes executives from Telefónica, Orange, Telenor, Bain, Ericsson, Nokia, Tech Mahindra, and Huawei, in 2025 TM Forum’s Autonomous Networks Mission saw pioneering Members achieving Level 4 validation in specific network domains, achieving significant and measurable business outcomes. Individual operators have demonstrated how Level 4 autonomy can deliver more than 30 percent operational expenditure (OPEX) reductions, 70 percent faster service efficiency, and significant energy savings within network operations.
“Our industry is at a pivotal moment as AI begins to fundamentally change how networks operate - from detecting and resolving issues before customers notice them, to allocating capacity in real time during peaks or major events. Placing AI‑driven autonomy and intent at the core of the network unlocks new innovation and growth, enabling faster launches, safer operations and customer experiences that are consistently dependable. Achieving this requires strong foundations: modern architecture, AI‑ready platforms and intent models that make autonomy predictable, safe and scalable. I look forward to co‑chairing this Mission Board and working with the industry to turn this vision into action,” said Kim Krogh Andersen, Group Executive, Product & Technology, Telstra.
“AI is transforming how networks are designed, built, operated and secured — improving resilience, elevating customer experience and opening new opportunities to monetise networks at scale through slicing and flexible pricing models. We’re delighted to welcome Kim as co‑chair; his deep expertise in AI‑native network transformation strengthens our Mission at a pivotal moment, as the industry moves from vision to large‑scale execution,” said Nik Willetts, CEO, TM Forum.
