Online ‘AI Readiness Check’ Helps Service Providers Harness Power of Artificial Intelligence

  • TM Forum’s AI Readiness Check is supported by global service providers, including Axiata, BOCO, BONC, BT, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, and PCCW-HKT.
  • The AI Readiness Check assesses across six dimensions of service providers’ business and identifies gaps in AI readiness.
  • The AI Readiness Check is part of TM Forum’s Open Digital Framework, a pathway for service providers to deliver intelligent operations fit for a 5G era.

 Digital Transformation World, Nice, France, and Parsippany, NJ— May 15, 2019 — TM Forum, the industry association driving digital transformation through collaboration, today announced the development of an AI Readiness Check which helps communications service providers (CSPs) harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) by identifying gaps across six key dimensions of their business: strategy, operations, culture and organization, data, party and technology.

Developed through collaboration between leading players across the telecom industry, AI Readiness Check lets service providers assess at an individual as well as an organizational level, adjust the survey aggregates, and see their results in an AI heatmap at a high-level or drill-down to one of the six dimensions and then 18 sub-dimensions.

“AI Readiness Check offers CSPs a practical first step in starting their AI adoption journey,” said Aaron Boasman-Patel, Vice President, AI & Customer Centricity, TM Forum. “Using the AI Readiness Check, service providers can diagnose areas of improvement with technology or related services. Going forward, CSPs will be able to benchmark their AI readiness against their peers.”
