DigitalRoute, a provider of data integration solutions globally, has announced its participation in the TM Forum’s Business Data Services Catalyst.
The Catalyst will demonstrate how NFV and SDN technologies, combined with an omni-channel, catalog-driven approach can enable telcos to move away from the costly, one-off business data services they have traditionally offered (supported by inflexible legacy applications) and towards reactive and innovative new market offerings.
The proof-of-concept initiative is sponsored by Ziggo, the largest cable operator in the Netherlands, and includes a number of expert participants. In addition to DigitalRoute, the collaboration involves Sigma Systems, Dorado Software and Microsoft. Their work will alert telcos to how utilising virtual network functions and automated service lifecycle management can be used to achieve savings and drive service innovation.
The Catalyst will demonstrate specific three Use Cases: First, leveraging NFV/SDN to deliver an IP VPN, managing firewall services and business Internet access in the process. Second, how NFV/SDN technologies can be leveraged to reduce both CAPEX and OPEX, thus improving ROI for business data services. And third, how KPIs can be used to measure potential security risk and then implementing an automated closed-loop process to mitigate such risks.
The combination of a catalog-driven approach, used in tandem with service orchestration across virtual and physical networks, will be demonstrated by the Catalyst’s participants.
Bridging data integration and analytics from DigitalRoute’s MediationZone technology, with the customer intelligence of Sigma Catalog and service monitoring and orchestration from Dorado Software, will help providers like Ziggo build cost-effective and innovative new offerings directly within Microsoft Dynamics or Sigma Configure Price Quote (CPQ). The Catalyst will show how to drive a transformation in Business Data Services that gives providers the ability to price, package and promote new offers quickly and profitably.
Today’s digital providers are looking for an architecture that will master the challenges of today while innovating with the technologies of tomorrow. Join us to explore how NFV and SDN are transforming a key aspect of providers’ approaches to new products and services.
Commenting on the Catalyst, Thomas Brannstrom, director of Cloud Product Management, DigitalRoute said: “CSPs need to understand how to identify and deploy the Use Cases that the SDN/NFV world opens up for them. The Business Data Services Catalyst clearly demonstrates how a dynamic service offering in a virtualized environment can be realised to dramatically improve an important area of their businesses.”
The Catalyst will be demonstrated live in Forumville at TM Forum’s Management World 2016, taking place from May 9-12, in Nice, France.
