Unleashing a Local Data Economy using a City as a Platform Concept

Thursday, June 1, 2017 3:00pm to 4:00pm

London

Hear from industry experts!

This webinar will highlight the recent achievements in TM Forum’s City as a Platform & Data Economy work stream. Over the last decade, the concept of platform business models has been extremely successful in the private sector.  A successful platform business connects producers and consumers of services using a common set of business rules; achieving a ‘network effect’, where every new user makes the platform more valuable to all other users.

Despite Cities being platforms that power the greatest marketplaces on earth, they don’t yet play an instrumental role in the emerging knowledge and data economy. Leading cities are now beginning to create, curate and use data to the advantage of their citizens and businesses. Developments in technology and society mean that data is becoming another utility in the city.

This webinar will present our recent work, covering; business models, value use cases, success criteria, and technical architecture. The webinar will also outline the next iteration of our Platform & Data Economy work stream, this is your opportunity to join other TM Forum members in developing this key initiative onto a global stage.
