As GenAI adoption expands through the telecom industry, keeping pace with the latest innovations, emerging models, evolving standards, and deployment frameworks is challenging. New GenAI models are released frequently, making comparative evaluation essential. Cost per token is reducing fast. Telecom industry Standard Definition Organisations (SDOs) are formalizing lessons from early adoption of GenAI into specifications and architectures. Software frameworks – many of them open-source – are easing the development of GenAI applications and agents. Regulations, responsible use, and understanding the environmental impacts all remain areas of major focus.
