IG1171 ODA Component Definition v4.0.0

This document describes reasons for defining an ODA Component (detailed in Open Digital Architecture Whitepaper), stemming from the need for an agile approach that encompasses business needs, network structure, and operational challenges. The document then describes the structure of a component, its sub-parts and their functionalities, as well as suggesting ways of exposing the functionalities. The document also addresses the lifecycle of the component and its composability aspects. Another section is devoted to the relation of ODA components to the existing Frameworx assets, including to the Open APIs.

Subsequent releases are expected to materially enhance the connection to digital business, the use of a component on existing industry platforms, composition scenarios, and examples.
