Much has been written about the potential for autonomous networks (ANs) to streamline telco operations, significantly reduce costs and greatly improve customer experience – as well as deliver new, innovative revenue streams. Now such benefits are becoming a reality as communications service providers (CSPs) forge ahead with projects targeted at moving up the AN levels.

TM Forum and its members have contributed greatly to this progress through the Autonomous Networks Project, providing a blueprint – including strategy, processes and architecture – to reach Level 4 AN. That marks a shift from traditional human-defined automation processes to true autonomous decision-making.
