Information framework conformance overview
This service performs a formal and certified conformance assessment of alignment to TM Forum’s Information Framework (SID). It is designed to provide vendors with an independent assessment and validation of the level of conformance of their product/solution. Service providers and system integrators can certify their design or implementation of a subset of the Aggregated Business Elements (ABEs) within the Information Framework.
The Information Framework (SID) provides a reference model and common vocabulary for all the information required to implement Business Process Framework (eTOM) processes. It reduces complexity in service and system integration, development and design by providing an off-the-shelf information model that can be quickly adopted by all parties.
Information Framework (SID) Conformance Certification ensures that the processes of a specific implementation are consistent with TM Forum’s globally recognized standards. How does it work?
- The service will assess how well the product/solution or implementation conforms with the Information Framework (SID) and the Aggregated Business Elements (ABEs). The overall process includes scoping of which elements to assess, however there is a minimum scope of 5 ABEs for the Information Framework.
- Information Framework Conformance is based on defined conformance “adoption” criteria for each ABE submitted for assessment. Adoption conformance is based on a cumulative scoring system – i.e. scores are awarded for each element of an ABE to give an overall total adoption score for the ABE – with elements in this context defined by core and dependent entities and required and optional attributes for both category of entity.
- This process can be combined with the Information framework conformance process by selecting relevant Level-3 process elements for the Business Process framework to achieve a minimum total of 5 elements.
