IG1220B Business Rule – Conceptual Information and Data Model v2.0.0

This information model, as part of closed loop automation, is designed to meet a set of requirements for the management of “BUSINESS RULES”, as a set of information to describe the ambition or effort/aim of a desired result in information system. BUSINESS RULES as a modeled concept, provides a good starting point to set an outcome for a process realized as an activity, workflow, closed loop or a combination of these.

BUSINESS RULES provide the logic for automation. By translating BUSINESS RULES into conditional statements, information systems are able to provide the assurance required in day-to-day operations towards meeting the organization’s goals. The elements of a BUSINESS RULE model are captured to enable the automation needs and are subsetted to create an information and data model using UML. Doing so helps to retain the traceability from elements in an information model to their definitions in a more precise language.
