IG1379 Metadata Driven Automation v1.0.0

  • Maturity level: Alpha
  • Created By: AI and Data Governance

Businesses once struggled to obtain enough data. Now, they’re virtually drowning in data. The problem they face is using all this data for decision-making, marketing, risk assessment, research, and just about everything else. Data can’t be used unless it can be trusted, and obstacles to trusting data include knowing where it came from, what operations have been done to it, and what version is the most recent. Legacy data stores need to be understood, cataloged, and brought into compliance with current privacy rules. Confidential information needs to be protected, and data access needs to be controlled. Quality issues in the data also need to be managed and remediated.

The scope of this document is to describe the value of metadata to enable automation for both Data & AI Governance.
