Created By: AI Closed Loop Automation Project
This document elaborates and provides descriptions to what a Simulator software component aims to achieve, detailing associations to the current TM Forum assets, and both functional and non-functional requirements.
This document plays a key role of coalescing understanding of a Simulator software and amalgamating the common set of functions to describe the core capabilities that are aligned to key stakeholders, including developers, business analysts, and end-users, to ensure that collectively there is reference to a common set of understanding for a Simulator software component that meets the desired goals and quality standards of ODA. Simulators are a tool for Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) realizing the cutting-edge approach that revolutionizes the way complex systems are designed and developed.
The primary function of the requirements document is to identify and articulate a general purpose simulation system with intended role in the ODA derived software components. This includes identifying key stakeholder, the functional and non-functional services which this piece of ODA component will operate, and the value it will deliver. Some of the requirement here are inspired by Geoffrey Gordon’s work at IBM on General Purpose Simulation Systems (GPSS).
By setting clear requirements and expectations, the document provides a business users view for the development and standardization process, covering aspects such as core functions, and some non-core functions, such as performance, scalability, security, and usability. High-level requirement overviews, with assumptions, and overarching visions are included to provide context and direction for ODA standardization.
