Kannan Ramakrishnan, Head – Product Management , TCS HOBS

Our customers need to be able capitalize on new opportunities in digital time, driven by 5G, edge cloud, automation, machine learning, and other emerging technologies. Open architectures and APIs are critical for the flexibility to leverage a selection of capabilities to drive their business objectives.

Brian McCann, Chief Product Officer, Nokia Software

LotusFlare is signing the Open API Manifesto because we want to help ensure the continuous growth and innovation of the community in support of these industry agreed APIs.

Brennan McDonald, Business Development Manager, LotusFlare

Globetom intends to support a significant collection of TM Forum Open APIs as part of its product portfolio to offer standardised, open integration platforms to our customers.

Philip Stander, CEO, Globetom

The innovation and progress that is required to keep pace with our client's needs is only possible through collaboration and standardization.

Adoption Assessment Survey Q2 2019 results

The pilot survey opened in March 2019 and had 12 vendor respondents and 7 communication service provider (CSP) respondents.

The results show most vendors have a good level of intention and ambition for implementation of TM Forum Open APIs but at this time they have relatively low maturity in the roll-out of their implementations due to the cadence of their development cycles.

Vendor maturity is still ahead of CSP maturity, which is as expected given the CSP dependency on vendors and the complexity of introduction into live systems. As expected, the more mature vendor deployments are available from vendors with smaller product portfolios that allow for quicker turnaround and adoption of new technologies.

CSP intent to adopt Open APIs is also ahead of vendor intent for key API collections. This provides motivation for vendors to become partners in the growth of the new 5G. CSPs also place higher priority on the Resource and Service API collections whereas vendors are more mature in the Product and Customer API collections.
