TR239 Applied Frameworx for Smart Energy-Mapping Utilities against Frameworx R14.5.1

As a key M2M industry area, Smart Grid is in many concrete ways gaining ground now. We also see this through the recent interest in major utilities active in large-scale and cutting-edge Smart Grid projects to engage with the digital expertise that TM Forum represents. Therefore the time to take the Smart Grid project from initially showcasing isolated bits and pieces of technology to more mature definitions and blueprints for how entire end-to-end flows of Smart Grid operations can and should be put together is now.

While the utility industry itself is many decades if not centuries old, few established holistic standards for operations of digitized Smart Grid operations exist yet. Several major utilities have announced their keen interest in working with TM Forum to define and produce a utility centric catalog version of TM Forum Frameworx standards artifacts that will be specifically applicable to Smart Grid operations. Such an effort will ultimately further enable and speed up the delivery of Smart Grid technologies and services to end-consumers.
