TR229 ZOOM/NFV User Stories Suite R17.0.0

As the ZOOM team started to focus on the key implementation issues for the virtualization management, it was realized that the User Stories in TR229 need to be considerably refined and extended to get to the level of detail needed to drive the specification of APIs. These APIs realize the integration and interoperability of OSS solutions for the management of virtualization in a hybrid environment.

Because of the change of audience, and level of detail, it was necessary to develop an additional document to avoid creating a large complex multi-audience document which would result from simply adding more material to the existing high level User Stories in TR229.

TR229 focuses on a business and operational management audience setting out requirements from managerial and strategic directional perspectives.

TR229A is intended for design and developer audiences that focus on how to implement solutions and APIs. In this release TR229A incorporates additional user stories and use cases for:

  • 5G multidomain operations including interoperator operations
  • A unified model for a multi-element application “package” (using OASIS TOSCA) capturing properties and behaviors for an arbitrary set of APIs (mapping to TM Forum Open APIs and ETSI NFV concepts) in a multi-vendor, multi-technology, cross-domain environment (Based on three catalysts at TM Forum Live 2017 notably ‘Enabling VNF Marketplaces’).
