The 2017 edition of the TM Forum Fraud Management Survey introduced new questions, and modified existing questions to allow for a better understanding of the telecom fraud landscape. This survey resulted in a good mix of respondents representing global service providers, MVNOs, independent software vendors and a toll charger.
Along with respondent and company profiles and organizational information, the aspects of process maturity measurement impacts, detection and classification, and department goals were examined in detail.
Companies are facing disrupting times and are adapting to new business and operational models that allow them to grasp opportunities the digital, connected world offers. In this new context, the winners are those who act fast, partner successfully, and continuously innovate and exploit the value of the increasing volumes of data they gather. These opportunities also come with risks, which need to be tackled in the same fast and innovative way, with departments working together in a coordinated way.
The survey results highlighted that Fraud teams are continuously challenged in the complex ecosystem that they need to manage and protect, while at the same time facing budget constraints. They need to focus on efficiency through the right combination of tools, people and processes.
