Previous Catalyst projects using Open APIs:
TM Forum Open APIs have been used in Catalyst proof of concept projects demonstrated at TM Forum events in Nice, May 2017, Dallas, November 2017 and Singapore, December 2017. You can see some examples below.
APPEX Omnichannel
The objective of this Catalyst team is the creation of an omnichannel solution environment for the service provider sector to encourage omnichannel adoption in order to enhance customer experience across all channels. Third parties are supported with TM Forum APIs and an open architecture. APPEX (Adaptive, Predictive & Personalized Experience eXcellence) Omnichannel customers will benefit from a consistent user experience regardless of channel and may interrupt and resume an interaction at will, enabled by persistent customer data and smart analytics to ensure the most appropriate “next best actions” are offered.
This team has developed Omnichannel management Reference Implementation based on a Customer Centric Business Architecture approach, to assist operators with the business transformation necessary for Omnichannel. Additionally, in the latest phase of the project they introduced omnichannel management in the areas of streaming services and address the issues raised by an IoT device environment

OAsIS – Open APIs for a Vibrant IoT Ecosystem
The objective of this Catalyst is to enable onboarding of new connected things, new applications into the ecosystem with less effort on the integration to provide the customer with more options in terms of connected things and IoT applications, and the IoT ecosystem becomes more attractive to other partners and customers causing a network effect. To do this, a common set of APIs is needs allowing communication between connected things, platforms and applications to be identified and standardized.

Real Virtuality
Ever increasing business and technology disruptions are forcing enterprises to rapidly adapt and keep reinventing themselves. This project envisions how SPs can have business agility added into their DNA by adopting radical new capabilities to become hyper-digital enterprises, always future-ready. An intuitive user-definable policy-driven framework – Programmable Future Operations – makes their intrinsic working highly intent-driven. And on-demand multi-partner infrastructure integration with Open Resource APIs, elastically and optimally expands platforms into Omni-platforms – omnipresent clouds of hybrid SDN-NFV services with global reach.

Connected Citizen: Life in a Green, Clean, Smart City
This Catalyst focuses on the creation of a new service provider business platform for delivering innovative and secured smart services to improve the quality of life and safety of all citizens.
The team is looking at ways to commercialize the IoT platform it has developed that can deliver automated services as prescribed by the user and activated by geofences, without the need for manual intervention. The aim is to co-create replicable, business models for smart cities the world over.

A Platform for IoT and Anything as a Service
This Catalyst delivers agility, experience and efficiency to service providers and expose TM Forum Open APIs to 3rd party developers to create new revenues streams enabled by network slicing, edge computing, and a service marketplace.
Champions: Vodafone
Participants: Huawei, Invercloud, Infosys, Centina Systems
Smart Health: Connected Care Anywhere
Operators and health care providers can ensure quality of care by using IoT principles to better connect patients, health care providers, insurance companies, government agencies, family and other stakeholders. In this Catalyst project, Ericsson Service Innovation ecosystem onboards partner offers and exposes in real-time the TM Forum APIs and partner APIs for the connected care@anywhere app. The features of the mobile application are delivered by BaseN and Pryv to monitor/manage the data, perform analytics, and enable long-term data collection and privacy management. Detecon supplies their healthcare solution expertise. Orange provided the privacy management expertise, and supports the use of TM Forum APIs. Verizon provides the requirements for the App UI.
Champions: Verizon, Orange
Participants: Ericsson, BaseN, Pryv
Smart Industrial Manufacturing: Robots-as-a-Service
This Catalyst project demonstrated online orders for Robot-based services, along with remote activation and configuration of robot cells using TM Forum Open APIs and DSRA APIs. The Catalyst showed the general applicability of TM Forum assets for new use-cases.
Champions: TWI
Participants: EnterpriseWeb, Infosim

Maximizing Profitability with NFV Orchestration
This Catalyst illustrates how service providers can harness real-time financial and quality of service analytics to optimize the business value of NFV orchestration. The previous phase developed a closed-loop control system composed of data collection, analytics, optimization, dynamic policies and NFV orchestration. This phase improves the intelligence of the control system by factoring in the financial aspects of service operation in real time. This may involve new metrics, policy model extensions and optimization algorithms.

Big Data openness for application development ecosystem
This catalyst is about big data openness and monetization, exploring an open and dynamic mechanism to help service providers to extract the value of data and to increase their business revenue. It allows different parties, (in this case, a data ingestion party, a data refining party and an application development party) to engage in the data application ecosystem easily, and provides an online service and API configuration mechanism for enhancing agile data openness. According to ever-changing business requirements, CSPs can leverage the data value by open framework and information sharing.
