Member Profile
Hellenic Telecoms Organization
Though the Greek government's telecommunications monopoly might have come to an end, Hellenic Telecommunications (OTE) is still the biggest player on its home stage. OTE provides local, long-distance, and international telephone calling services to nearly 2.9 million fixed line subscribers. It also offers broadband Internet services (through ISP OTEnet) to roughly 1.3 million residential and business customers. Other wired services include leased lines, data hosting, and wholesale telecom services. Subsidiary Cosmote provides wireless service to more than 7 million subscribers on its GSM-based network. OTE's international holdings include subsidiaries in Albania, Bulgaria, and Romania.
